LED Ballast

LUMIXESS® LED Ballast

Multi-Channel Dimmable LED Driver designed for Type C tube, with uniform light output across all lamps configuration and dimming range

The LUMIXESS® family of LED ballasts features Multi-lamps driving and wide line voltage input (108~380Vac),which benefits customers can meet orders faster while reducing costs and inventory. These LED ballasts are compatible with standard 0-10V dimming systems to deliver reliably smooth dimming performance down to a minimum of 1% without flicker. The built-in Dim-to-Off capability and 12V-always-On auxiliary power to provide lighting control and wireless connectivity for LED fixtures at the lowest system cost. That resulting advantages enable Networked Lighting Control with greater installation flexibility, good scalability, and lowest labor installation cost, suitable for many applications but particularly hard-to-wire applications. All of the LUMIXESS® LED ballasts are UL and DLC compliance.

F.A.Q.

Power factor and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) are key measures of the power quality of electrical and electronic equipment. In general, power factor should be as close to one as possible and total harmonic distortion should be as low as possible.

The DLC program specifies the minimum power factor 0.9 and maximum THD 20% for SSL lighting products

A very common misconception is that the difference between 1-10V dimmer and 0-10V dimmer is that the first can dim the load down to 10% while the latter can dim the light down to 0% (dim to OFF).

This is incorrect!

The main difference between 1-10V and 0-10V dimmers is the current direction, not the dimming level. The 1-10V dimmer is a current sink as defined in IEC60929 Annex E2.1 which means that the current flows from the driver to the dimmer. This dimming protocol is mainly used for general lighting. The 0-10V dimmer is a current source as defined in ESTA Annex E1.3, which means that the current flows from the dimmer towards the driver. This dimming protocol is mainly used for entertainment lighting such as theatrical lighting. If you need to dim your light down to OFF, you need to check the driver connected to the load, but not the dimmer connected to the driver.

LUMIXESS® LED ballast is the driver that built-in Dim-to-Off function allowed you dim the light down to OFF when dim voltage is less than 0.8V.

Dimming controls affect the operation modes of the LED driver via signals from other parts of the LED lighting system. UL worked to make certain that related safety requirements are adequately addressed and published in UL 8750 as Supplement SF. Clause SF3.1 requires the control circuit be separated (isolated) from all other circuits of the LED driver. Supplement SF was published as part of ANSI/UL 8750 in July 2017. In September 2017, UL’s certification organization set up an industry file review for adoption of this supplement with an effective date of May 1, 2020.

All of LUMIXESS® LED ballast have been certified isolated dimming under UL

For multiple lamp applications, the independent lamp operation (iLO) is an ideal feature, which allowed the remaining lamp(s) to maintain full light output even when one or more other lamps fail. To the end users that meaning of multiple lamp iLO could be simply states as follows

  • If a lamp is added, it should be lighted and kept operation without disturbing the operation of other working lamps;
  • If a lamp is removed from the socket, other lamps should be kept operation without interruption;

De-lamping is the process of removing or disabling one or more lights within a fluorescent light bay in order to reduce brightness and glare. De-lamping is typically performed when there is too much lighting per square foot, which can compromise viewing conditions and the health of employees. Ideally, De-lamping helps business owners control glare and reduce energy, helping businesses lower their electric bills and bolstering eligibility for tax credits that are awarded to energy efficient businesses.

All of LUMIXESS® LED ballast built-in independent Lamp Operation (iLO) function that allowing remained lamps to maintain full light output when one or more lamps are removed / failed.

Re-lamping is the act of replacing bulbs when they burn out. Large facilities with many overhead lights constantly need to replace burned out lamps. It may necessary to rent lift equipment to replace burned out lamps. Ignoring burned out lamps degrades the quality of a facility’s lighting and therefore impacts the work environment. Consider group Re-lamping, a maintenance practice where large numbers of lamps are replaced at the same time. This practice can be used to efficiently maintain lighting in arenas, warehouses, production facilities, aircraft hangers, schools, office buildings, places of worship, and other large businesses.

Changing lamps takes time. One or two workers using a lift may spend a great deal of time / cost changing lamps in high overhead fixtures. To improve working efficiency of group Re-lamping, ballast / driver should functioned auto Re-lamping in order to restart lamps without resetting power.

All of LUMIXESS® LED ballast are built-in auto Re-lamping function
